1.22:

Hopefully finally fixed the bug that prevented totally clean Windows installs from working.
You can now optionally have DefilerPak leave the 'thumbnail preview' features in WinXP alone.
Post-processing enabled by default, and in silent mode installs.
Switched from volume normalization to a +3db bump. Should sound better.

1.21:

Updated to ffdshow 12-08-2005. Two versions included, one for SSE-enabled systems, one for the rest.
Haali's Media Splitter now used for AVI, MP4, MKV, and OGM files.

Updated to HDTVPump 1.07. Does not include the WMP10 plugin.

Updated to ffdshow 06-19-2005-sse. 10-12-2004 is also included, but only used on systems that lack SSE support.
Supporting ancient systems (pre-Pentium III and Athlon XP) is adding some serious overhead to the pack. It may be removed soon. Just a heads-up.
Switched to Haali's Media splitter for Matroska files. This adds, amongst other things, MP4 support.
Updated to VSFilter 2.36, which fixes some Matroska compatibility problems.
Switched to ffdshow-audio for decoding AC3, AAC, and Vorbis. Does this screw non-SSE people? Are there any left?
Replaced the ancient and crufty OggDS with the open source Ogg Splitter.
Added Gabest's AC3/DTS XForm filter. This allows you to do handy things like use your DVD decoder to handle surround-sound content.
Added HDTVPump, which allows playback of high-definition transport streams (.TS files). ffdshow is OK for this, but you're probably better off with serious MPEG-2 decoders like the ones from nVidia.

Adding the AC3Filter release candidate is a controversial move. It works for me; let's hope it works for you.

Because it causes trouble on some systems, the Morgan Stream Switcher is disabled by default.

Rethought ill-conceived decision to include DivX and XviD. Simple answer: Don't encode with settings that ffdshow can't yet handle.
Went back to the 05-23-2003 build of ffdshow, since that one worked quite well.

1.14:

Changing the role of ffdshow in this pack, since development on this decoder seems to have stalled.
Re-introduced the official XviD and DivX decoders. ffdshow just hasn't been keeping up with the changes.
Decoder defaults altered so that "real" XviD and DivX files will use the appropriate decoder, and everything else will pass through ffdshow.
Updated to the 12/30/2003 version of the Nullsoft Installer System.
Added the Morgan Stream Switcher for people who use horrible video players.
Eagerly awaiting the advent of a new Ogg Vorbis DirectShow filter that will let me remove the current one from the pack.

I am continually amazed by how fragile those operating systems are.
Going back to 0.9.9.5 of the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow filter, because 0.9.9.6 has crazy bugs.

Reworked the installer script to be more modular and maintainable.

You can now do a "silent" install by passing /S as a command-line parameter.
Removed the Moonlight Odio Dekoda, because apparently no one needs it. If you disagree, PLEASE let me know.
Updated to 09-27-2003 version of ffdshow, because there hadn't been enough bugs in the pack recently.

Apparently there are some subtitle problems with this version of the Ogg Vorbis DS filter?

Fixed stupid installer mistake. If you're not having problems with 1.08, there is no need to update.
Slightly changed AC3Filter default values.

Total installer rewrite.
ffdshow post-processing now enabled by default for improved visual quality.

If you have a slower PC, you may need to disable or reduce this in the Post Processing tab of ffdshow.
Click "Configure Video Options" in the DefilerPak program group to get there.

Now detects Windows 95/98/ME, in order to support legacy operating systems.
05-23-2003 build of ffdshow. Finally fixes the "green video" issues that plagued DefilerPak 1.06.
Removed the MPEG-2 decoder. I recommend Sonic's decoders, if you want to watch DVDs on your PC.
Removed Nic's XviD decoder. Unnecessary with the new ffdshow.
Added Matroska support.
